"Peachy" named as inductee for Sask Sports Hall of Fame
The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame has announced the nine (9) inductees who will become the newest members to be enshrined as part of the Class of 2013 and the inductees include a Yorkton resident
VERN "PEACHY" PACHAL HAS BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE ATHLETES CATEGORY. PACHAL'S SPORTS RESUME INCLUDES A STINT IN THE AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE, TH CAPTAIN OF ALBERA GOLDEN BEARS HOCKEY TEAM IN 1956-59. HE WAS ALSO A MULTI-SPORT ATHLETE EXCELLING IN HCOKEY, GOLF, AND BASEBALL.
HE ALSO SERVED AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE YORKTON TERRIERS, AND IN 1980 HE SPEARHEADED A COMMITTEE TO SAVE THE YORKTON TERRIERS . HE WAS ALSO YORKTON'S MAYOR AND A COUNCILLOR & FOUNDED THE YORKTON SPORTS HALL OF FAME IN 1994.
VERN "PEACHY" PACHAL IS A MEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2013 FOR THE SASKATCHEWAN SPORTS HALL OF FAME.
