Local teams earn Hoopla 2018 berths

The Saskatchewan High School Regional basketball championships took place over the weekend across the province as teams will looking to earn berths into Hoopla which takes this weekend in Prince Albert.
In 2A Girls Regionals,

Canora advanced on at home court beating the Foam Lake Panthers 74-71 while the Wynyard Golden Bears also advanced on with a 80-63 victory over Regina Christian.

Canora and Wynyard will now face off with each other in the 2A Girls Semi-Finals this weekend.

In 1A Boys regionals in Rocanville, the hosts advance to the Provincial Semi-Finals with a 108-62 victory over the Preeceville Panthers.

Rocanville will now take on Lake Lenore

At 3A Boys regionals, the host Norquay earned their Final four berth by beating Moosomin 102-68.

Norquay will face off with Birch Hills this weekend in the Semi-Finals.

Meanwhile the Yorkton Regional Raiders captured their 5A Boys regional in Warman on Saturday, with a thrilling 88-83 victory over North Battleford.

Once again the Provincial High School Basketball Championships, otherwise known as Hoopla 2018 will be taking place this weekend in Prince Albert.
