Wednesday Night's SJHL/MJHL Recap

In the MJHL,

The Swan Valley Stampeders started their stretch of 4 games in 5 nights with a 5-3 loss on the road to the OCN Blizzard.

But despite the loss, the Stamps were able to clinch a MJHL Playoff spot after Neepawa lost to the Winnipeg Blue 3-2 on home ice.

The Blizzard used a 4 goal 3rd period from Mark Liwiski, George Kings, Jacob Berry and Jesse Road to beat the Stamps.


Trevar Mann, Noah Basarab, and Connor Navrot replied for Swan.

The Stampeders will go right back at it tonight (Thurs) when they host the Wayway Wolverines at 7:30 from the Centennial Arena in Swan River. (Y Not Johnny’s is the Game Sponsor and there will be free hot dogs for the first 400 fans, A Guaranteed $1000 50/50 payout.)


Other MJHL result had Steinbach blank Portage 2-0

In the Saskatchewan Junior hockey league,


The Melville Millionaires had their point streak continue to 6 games but they fell in overtime, 4-3 to the Flin Flon Bombers.


Daylan Marchi scored twice for the the Bombers while Nate Hooper and Caleb Moretz (OT winner) also chipped in with markers.


Clayton Eisler, Damian Bentz and Logan Foster scored for the Mils who will host the Yorkton Terriers on Friday night. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30.


Other SJHL match up on Wednesday had Kindersley in a wild one defeat the Melfort Mustangs 7-6 in the shootout.
