Swan Valley Stampeders name Wolff their new Head Coach/GM
The Swan Valley Stampeders have found their new bench boss.
The Stamps board of directors announced this morning (Fri) that Barry Wolff will be the club's new Head Coach and General Manager.
"Barry was clearly the best candidate for the job, he's got the experience and the track record certainly speaks for itself", said Stamps President Pat Morden in a phone interview this morning (Fri)
The Kelowna BC product brings 23 years of coaching experience to the Stamps organization, most recently being the Head Coach/GM of the BCHL's Coquitlam Express from 2013-2017.
Wolff said he has heard nothing but good things about the organization
"Obviously when the position became available, I did my research about them and talked to people I know in the area, I didn't hear anything about the team or players, and that the potential to have a great year is there."
He also on 4 separate occasions was on the coaching staff for Team Canada West for the World Junior A Challenge, winning the Gold Medal in 2015
Wollf will make his debut behind the Swan Valley bench, when the Stampeders host the Neepawa Natives on Saturday night from the Centennial Arena in Swan River. Puck drop is at 7:30.
