Terriers & Mils win; Stampeders lose in Friday Night Local Jr. A Recap

In the SJHL,

The Yorkton Terriers returned to the win column as they slipped by the visiting Notre Dame Hounds 5-4 at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

Jordan Ross scored the GWG with 31.5 seconds left in regulation while Brandon Sookro, Corwin Stevely, Shane Sherban and Jordan McCausland scored the Terriers.

Colby Brandt, Jacob Arsenault, Tyler Podgorenko and Ben Duperreualt scored for the Hounds.

Andrew Suriano made 32 saves for the Terriers to get his 1st SJHL win while Riley Highdon made 27 stops in the loss.

The Terriers return to the ice next Friday night as they host the Melfort Mustangs at 7:30 from the FAA.


The Melville Millionaires got their 5th win of the season on Friday night as they defeated the La Ronge Ice Wolves 4-3 in the shootout.

Keegan Milligan, Chance Patterson and Clayton Eisler scored for the Mils while Tyler Kreklewich and Mathieu Jallabert had the goals in the shootout for the Moneymen.

Tristan Elder, Craig Pejkovic and Jared Blacquiere replied for the Ice Wolves who have now lost their 10th straight game.

Brandon Wells made 36 saves in goal for the Mils to get the win.

The Mils wrap up their road-trip on Saturday night as they visit the Northern Lights Palace to battle the Melfort Mustangs at 7:30.

Nipawin Hawks defeat the Humboldt Broncos 6-2


In the MJHL,

17 year old Brian Harris scored in his 2nd straight game but the Swan Valley Stampeders fell to the MJHL-leading Steinbach Pistons 3-1 on home ice.

Brett Evans made 37 saves in the losing cause for the Stampeders.

Landon Plett and Jordan Bochinski led the way offensively for the Pistons with a goal and an assist each.

The Stamps return to action on Sunday night at 6PM MB time when they host the visiting Virden Oil Capitals at the Centennial Arena.
