Canada West had their record drop to 1-1 at the 2016 World Junior A Challenge in Bonnyville, Alberta after 5-3 loss to Russia on Monday night.
Carter Turnbull had 2 goals for Canada West while Yorkton Terrier defenceman Regan Seiferling had 1 assist in the loss to earned his 3rd point of the tournament.
Alexey Lepanov had 2 goals, 2 assists for the Russians who will take on Switzerland on Tuesday afternoon.
Canada West will now have to wait to learn their fate in the playoff round as Pool play concludes on Tuesday night.
