The Melville Millionaires dropped their 2nd straight decision, 6-1 on the road to the Melfort Mustangs on Friday night.
The Mustangs would get on the board first just 1:03 into the 1st as Braxx George's snapshot would sneak through Brandon Wells for his 1st of the season to make it 1-0. Then at the 9:34 mark Andrew Thompson would go top shelf on Wells for his 5th goal of the season on the PP to make it a 2 goal game. The Mustangs would get couple more 2:53 apart off the sticks of Miles Warkentine and Kalem Zary to make it 4-0 Mustangs after 1 period. Shot were 11-5 Melfort.
Kalem Zary would add to his lead at the 14:12 mark of the 2nd as he would deflect home his 2nd of the night and 10th of the season to make it 5-0. Then a late shorthanded goal by Tanner Zenter with 25 seconds left in the middle frame would give Melfort a 6-0 lead after 40 minutes. Shots after were 28-13.
The Mils would add one late in the 3rd on a nice redirection by former Mustang Teal Sobkowicz but that's as close as they would get losing 6-1 on the road.
Evan Plotnik made 20 saves on 21 shots to earn the win against his former team while Brandon Wells started for Melville and allowed 3 goals on 7 shots before being relieved by Colby Entz who turned aside and allowed 3 goals on 32 shots.
The Mils will go right back at it on Saturday night as they host the La Ronge Ice Wolves at the Horizon Credit Union Center at 7:30.
Elsewhere in the SJHL,
The Yorkton Terriers pulled 2 points ahead of the Mils for 3rd place in the Viterra division standings after a 3-2 win over La Ronge on home ice.
Tyler Baier, Quin Hobbs (1st SJ goal) and Jared Legien who had the GWG scored for the Terriers while Tanner Brewster and Brayden Dunn scored for the Ice Wolves.
Matt Vernon made 36 saves to get the win while Luke Lush faced 48 shots and turned aside 45 of them in the loss.
The Terriers are also back in action on Saturday as they visit their Viterra division rivals, the Weyburn Red Wings.

In the MJHL,
The Swan Valley Stampeders had their 2 game win streak come to an end as they lost 8-2 on the road in Steinbach against the Pistons.
Connor Navrot and Tanner Koroscil scored for the Stamps while Tyler Anderson, Jordan Bochinski and Braden Purtill led the way for the Pistons with 3 points each.
Connor Slipp made 34 saves on 41 shots to take the loss while Brett Evans also saw action for Swan and made 5 saves on 6 shots. Roman Bengert once again stood tall making 29 saves.
The Stamps wrap up their road trip on Saturday night visiting the Selkirk Steelers at 7:30
