Saturday Night Local Jr. A Recap

The Melville Millionaires snapped a 2 game slide as they hammered the Weyburn Red Wings 6-1 on Saturday night.

Colby Entz made 42 saves on 43 shots for his 6th win of the season while Damian Bentz had 2 goals for the Mils and  Keegan Milligan had 1G 2A to lead the offensively. Aaron Aragon, Tucker Scantlebury & Alex Maticic also scored for the Mils.

The Mils wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule tonight (Sun) as they host the top-ranked Battlefords North Stars. Pregame 5:50, pxp at 6PM with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey on GX94.

Elsewhere in the SJHL,

Coby Downs scored just 91 seconds into the game and that was the only offence as the Battlefords North Stars blanked the Yorkton Terriers 1-0 at the FAA.

Joel Grzybowski made 20 saves for the North Stars while Nathan Hargrave made 36 saves in the losing cause.

The Terriers return to action on Fri. Dec 30th when they host the Melville Millionaires. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30.

In the MJHL,

The Wayway Wolverines fell on home ice on Saturday night 4-3 to the Neepawa Natives.

Aaron Beauchamp led the Wolverines with 1G 2A while Brendan Martin and Landyn Cochrane also scored.

McKenzie Chalmers made 24 saves in the loss for Wayway.

Meantime in Swan River,

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped their 4th straight losing 3-0 to the Selkirk Steelers.

Jake Dudar, Ezra Hall and Nathan Hillis scored for the Steelers while Hayden Dola made 27 saves for the shutout. Brett Evans made 30 saves in the losing cause for Swan.

The Stampeders and Wolverines wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule on Tuesday when they host the Wayway Wolverines at 7:30 from the Centennial Arena in Swan River.
