Dec. 2nd Local SJHL/MJHL Recap



SJHL

Chantz Petruic and Jared Legien (pictured above) each had a 1G 2A to lead the Yorkton Terriers to their 3rd straight win on Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Humboldt Broncos 6-3.

Mason Mullaney, Colby Brandt Cody Bruchkowski and Quin Hobbs also scored while G Ryan Ouellette made 28 saves to win his 3rd straight start.

The Terriers improved their record to 16-10-1 on the season and pulled back two points ahead of the Estevan Bruins for the Viterra division lead, with 6 games in hand.

Those two teams will meet on Tuesday night at the Farrell Agencies Arena in Yorkton. Puck drop is at 7:30.


MJHL

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped the final game of their 3 game weekend weekend road trip on Sunday, falling 6-3 to the Portage Terriers .

The Stamps lost 3-2 on Friday in Selkirk and dropped a 3-2 OT decision in Winnipeg on Saturday.

Jake Besnilian, Matt Osadick and Brian Harris scored for the Stamps while Michael Davis made 24 saves in the loss.

Logan Calder and Joey Moffatt scored twice to lead Portage.

The Stampeders had their record drop to 19-6-2-2, which sits them in the solo 2nd place, 4 points back of the Terriers for top spot in the MJHL standings.

Swan will get a couple days off and will return to action on Wednesday night when they visit the OCN Blizzard at 7PM.
