Mils; Stampeders both home ice winners in Dec. 15th Local SJHL/MJHL Recap


It was a split of the Highway 10 home and home series this past weekend.

After the Yorkton Terriers won 6-2 on Friday, the Melville Millionaires came back with a 3-2 win on Saturday night at the Horizon Credit Union Center.

Colby Brandt got the Terriers on the board in the 1st period, but the Mils would score the next 3, Luke Spadafora and two from Luke Nkwama (pictured above) 

Jared Legien would add his 26th goal of the season with 16 seconds to go but thats as close as they would get. 

Colby Entz made 33 saves in the Mils net to earn his 7th victory of the season while Terriers net minder Ryan Ouellette turned aside 32 shots in the loss. 

The Mils are officially are on their Christmas break and they will return to action on Sunday Dec 30th when they visit the Yorkton Terriers. The Terriers wrap up their pre Christmas schedule on Tuesday night when they visit the Estevan Bruins. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, "Sask Milk" pregame show begins at 7:20, pxp starts at 7:30.

In the MJHL on Saturday, 

Merek Pipes made 32 saves for his 1st shutout in the MJHL as the Swan Valley Stampeders earned their 23rd victory over the season as they blanked the Steinbach Pistons 3-0. 

Quintin Sudom, Brad Goethals and Josh Maucieri scored for the Stampeders. 

The Stamps and Pistons will meet this afternoon (Sun) at 4PM from the Centennial Arena in Swan River. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame show begins at 3:50.
