Henry's OT winner lead Terriers to a big road victory over Nipawin on Tuesday night

The Yorkton Terriers' earned their 11th victory of the season on Wednesday night as they defeated the Nipawin Hawks 4-3 in overtime on Tuesday in Nipawin.

The Hawks would get off to a quick start as they would strike short-handed 6:38 into the 1st as Brodie Girod would bury home his 7th of the season to make it 1-0.

Then just under 4 minutes later they would get a PP goal off the stick of Zach Cox, his 6th of the year to give the home team a two goal lead.

But the Terriers would respond not even 2 minutes later as Chantz Petruic would cause a turnover on the fore-check and then feed Brett LeGrandeur in front who would make no mistake for his 3rd of the season to make it a one goal game. Then with 3:35 left in the 1st, Petruic would continue his torrid pace as he back-hand home his league-leading 20th of the season to make it a 2-2 game after 1 period.

Just 6:06 into the 2nd period, the visitors grabbed their first lead of the night as just 6 seconds into their 2nd power-play of the night, the Terriers Captain Chantz Petruic's long point shot would beat a screened Ross Hawryluk for his 2nd of the night making it 3-2.

But before the 2nd period buzzer could go off the Hawks would respond with a PP goal of their own as Carson Erhardt would pounce on a loose rebound and flip it by Ryan Ouellette to even the game up again after 40 minutes of play.

After a scoreless 3rd period, the Terriers would get the extra point netting the OT winner as Brett LeGrandeur fed it across to Carson Henry who snuck it through the left arm and the post of the Hawks goaltender for his 6th of the year to help them to pull ahead for good.

Ryan Ouellette made 45 saves on 48 shots in the Terrier net to earn his 4th victory of the season while Ross Hawryluk turned aside 25 shots in the losing cause in the Hawks' net.

The Terriers' next game will be on Friday night when they begin 2 game series in Flin Flon against the Bombers.
