Nov. 26th Local Junior A Recap

SJHL

Noah Lindsay scores the game winning goal with 2:07 left in regulation while Matt Sankner made 40 saves to lead the Kindersley Klippers to a 3-2 victory over the Yorkton Terriers at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

Liam Fraser also scored for the Klippers while Keenan Taphorn and Ryan Granville replied for the Terriers.

Terrier net-minder Philippe Bond made 31 saves on 34 shots in the loss.

Yorkton will once again be on home-ice tonight (Wed) when they host the league-leading Battlefords North Stars at 7:30.

Elsewhere,

The Flin Flon Bombers used a three goal 3rd period to defeat the Melville Millionaires 5-2 at the Horizon Credit Union Center.

Donavan Houle-Villeneuve and Easton Haygarth led the Bombers with 1G 2A each while Tristan Lemyre, Chase Haygarth and Caleb Franklin chipped in with singles.

Tanner Brown (1st SJHL goal) and Luke Spadafora replied for the Mils who got 26 saves from Berk Berkeliev in the losing cause.

The Mils will return to action tonight (Wed) when they host Kindersley

MJHL

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines' got 1G 2A from Conrad Phillips but it wasn't quite enough as they fell 5-4 to the visiting Portage Terriers.

Jack Kennedy, Jaymes Knee, and Matt Kasowski also scored for the Wolverines who got 22 saves from Thomson Phinney in the loss.

The Terriers were led by Riley Bruce (1G 2A) and Jacob Piller (3A) who had 3 points each.

The Wolverines will return to action on Friday night when they visit the Steinbach Pistons.
