Silvernagle captures 2nd straight Viterra Scotties Tournament of Hearts title

The repeat is complete for Robyn Silvernagle and her rink out of the Twin Rivers Curling Club in North Battleford.

Silvernagle and her foursome of Stephanie Lawton, Jessie Hunkin and Kara Thevenot captured their 2nd straight Viterra Scotties Tournament of Hearts title after a 8-5 win over Saskatoon's Sherry Anderson at the Horizon Credit Union Center in Melville.

A turning point in the match-up was when Silvernagle picked up 3 in the 4th end and that's where she took control.

"Ya it was a pretty wide open end and we made a nice draw then got a couple misses out of Sherry and we capitalized when we needed to", Silvernagle told reporters after the match.

This years championship will mean a little more for the Silvernagle and her Saskatchewan rink as this year's National Championship will be played in the province.

"I think I'm going to have chills every time I step on the ice, this year will be incredible and it's gonna to be awesome to have so many fans and to play on home soil will be pretty special."

The new Saskatchewan women's champions will now represent Team Saskatchewan at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts which will run February 15th to 23rd at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw.
