The Melville Millionaires needed a big effort and they got it as they defeated Notre Dame Hounds 2-1 in double overtime.

Mils got on the board 11:11 into the 1st period to give them an early 1-0 lead.

There would be no scoring in the 2nd period but excellent chances from both sides but both goalies were outstanding.

In the third period , Logan Saworski would tie it up 9:46 into the 3rd as after a mad scramble he would put it into the empty net to make it 1-1.

In the first overtime it was dominating by the Hounds as they outshot the Mils 14-4 and that included a Notre Dame Powerplay but Alex Wakaluk was outstanding in goal.

Then in double OT Sean Aschim would get a feed from Nathan Boyer down low and put it short side on Ty Reichenbach for his 2nd of the playoffs to give the Mils a 2-1 win.

  1. The Mills played from the opening of the game like the team we know.
Think game 7 will be a exciting one. They really needed that win to get their confidence back.
