Melville's Campbell begins run at 3rd CIS University Cup Title

  

Melville's Dion Campbell will be trying for his 3rd CIS University Cup Men's Hockey Title when they open up their championship tomorrow night (Thurs) against the host University of Saskatchewan at Saskatoon's Credit Union Center.

In 156 games in the SJHL, with the Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires Campbell scored 55 goals and 71 assists for 126 points.

Other members in the tournament include Former Millionaire Blake Voth, former Esterhazy resident Jimmy Bubnick and Kyle Aschim who is the brother of Current Mils' Sean Aschim they are all members of the University Of Saskatchewan Huskies.

Also in the event, are the Alberta Golden Bears, UQTR Patriotes, Saint Mary's Huskies and Waterloo Warriors.

  1. Didn't Dion play most of his junior hockey with the Mils? not the yorkton terriers?

  2. One of the few guys to don both the Blue and White as well as the Orange and Black. Was also a valuable member of the Yorkton Harvest in his midget days. Keep making us proud Dion!

  3. Dion's sister Jessica, playing for Cornell University Big Red won the East Coast Athletic Conference hockey championship, thrid out of four years. This gives Big Red (thrid ranked in Natioin) automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA quarter finals.

  5. Yes Dion did play most of his career with the Mills and not the Terriers.....he was traded to Melville and was a valuable part of our team winning two years in a row; the south title.
