Wakaluk shines as Mils defeat Terriers in Game 3 3-1

The Melville Millionaires were able to hold on barely as they defeated the Yorkton Terriers 3-1 in Game 3 of the Sherwood Conference Final.

Christian Magnus opened the scoring in the 1st with an early Powerplay goal from a nice shot from the point for his 1st of playoffs to make it 1-0 Mils. But the Terriers would come right back as Terrier captain Devon McMullen would finish off a nice passing play and go top shelf on Alex Wakaluk for his 2nd of the playoffs to make it 1-1. The Mils would take the lead with just over a minute left in the opening period as Russell Trudeau would capitalize on a Terrier turnover and slip it five hole on Dawson McAuley for his 5th playoff goal to make it 2-1 Mils after 2.

There would be no scoring until Magnus would ice it into the empty net for his 2nd to make it a 3-1 Mils victory.

The Terriers dominated lots of the play and shots but Alex Wakaluk was very good stopping 39 of 40 shots for the victory while Dawson McAuley stopped 20 shots in a losing cause.

Terriers now lead series 2-1, Game 4 back in Melville on Wednesday 7:20/7:30 on GX94. Tix go on sale on Gameday ( Wednesday) from Noon until GameTime at the HCUC.
