Stamps roll over Neepawa 8-1; Wayway falls in Selkirk

The Swan Valley Stampeders have made it 2 wins in a row over the Neepawa Natives with a convincing 8-1 victory.

The Stamps would begin the game the best way they could as they scored 4 goal in the first 8:19 as Bo Sigurdson, Jordan Neduzak and Justin Valentino with 2 would get the goals, while Kyle Smart would add 1 more to make it a 5-0 Swan Valley lead after 20 minutes of play.

At 10:55 of the 2nd period, Dylan Hykawy would rip a slapper to make it a 6-0 lead for the hometown team. Just under 2 mins later, Brenden Wilde would get Neepawa on the board to make it a 5 goal hockey game. Garret Johnston would help Swan regain the 6 goal lead to make it 7-1 after 2 periods of play.

Their would be a lone goal in the final frame, Valentino would get his hat-trick goal and 18th goal of the season to make it a 8-1 final.

Stamps' goalie Nathan Armstrong stopped 25 of 26 shots for the victory while Neepawa used both goaltenders in the game with Bruce Corrigal stopped 24 of 30 shots while Matt Kohlman stopped 18 of 20 shots.

The Stamps will conclude their regular season on Tuesday when they visit Wayway at 7:30, they will meet OCN next Saturday March 9th for Game 1 of the Best of 7 Sherwood Semi at 7:00

The Wayway Wolverines lost their 2nd straight a 4-1 decision to the Selkirk Steelers.

Russell Turner scored the lone Wolverine goal while Cory Simons stopped 40 shots in a losing cause, while former Wolverine Riley Feser stopped 40 of 41 shots to get the W against his former team.

Wayway will continue their roadtrip on Saturday in Winkler at 7:30
