Local Sunday Recap

Melville Millionaires draft pick Lucas Sillinger had 2 goals and 1 assists to help the Regina Pat Canadians eliminate the Yorkton Rawtec Maulers last night (Sun), with a 4-1 win in Game 3.

Trey Bear had the lone goal for the Maulers while Nolan Maier made 27 saves on 31 shots in the losing cause.

The Pat C's will now wait for their next opponent as the Tisdale Trojans took a 2 games to 1 lead in their Best of 5 Semi-final after a 1-0 win over the Prince Albert Mintos on Sunday in Game number 3

The Sask. High School Provincial Curling Championships were held over the weekend

.At the Boys championship in Assiniboia, in the Gold Medal Game it was Carlyle hammering Spiritwood 9-2.

In the Girls provincials in Moose Jaw, it was Esterhazy with the silver-medal after dropping the championship game 9-4 to Saskatoon Holy Cross meanwhile Ituna lost the 3rd place game, 6-3 to Carnduff.

Also the 2017 Masters Curling championships wrapped up yesterday (Sunday)
In Birch Hills, Wadena's Delores Syrota won the Master's Womens title after beating Wendy Leach of Regina 6-2 in the Championship game
at the Masters' Men's championship in Shellbrook, Jim Wilson of Unity outlasted Saskatoon's Eugene Hritziuk 6-4.
The two winning teams will now represented Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canadian Masters' Curling championships being held April 3rd-9th, 2017 in Guelph, Ontario.
