Terriers' 2016/17 comes to an end this past weekend in Estevan

The Yorkton Terriers had their 2016/17 season come to an end after 5-0 loss on the road to the Estevan Bruins in Game 5 at Affinity Place.

The home team would strike first as 12:50 in, Matt McNeil would walk in and slip it five-hole on Nathan Hargave for his 3rd of the playoffs to give the Bruins the first lead at 1-0. Then just 1:35 later, Josh Rieger would sneak behind the Terriers defence and jam it through the Terrier net minder for the UND-commit’s first of the playoffs to give the 3rd seeded Bruins a 2-0 lead after 1 period with the shots at 12-8 Estevan through 20 minutes.

After a scoreless 2nd period, Michael McChesney would strike again for the Bruins for his 3rd goal of the series to make it 3-0. The home team would add a couple more for insurance off the sticks of Kaelen Holt and Zach Goberis to help them to the series clinching victory.
Nathan Alalouf made 35 saves for his 1st SJHL shutout while Nathan Hargrave in his final Jr. game made 31 saves on 36 Bruin shots.

The Bruins will now take on the Battlefords North Stars in one SJHL Semi-Finals while other will feature the Flin Flon Bombers take on the Nipawin Hawks.
