Wolverines; Stampeders' both have 2016/17 MJHL seasons come to an end on Sunday Night

 

The Wayway Wolverines and Swan Valley Stampeders had their Manitoba Junior Hockey League seasons' come to an end in the final night of the regular season.

The Wolverines lost on home ice to the two-time defending champion Portage Terriers 5-4.

Trevor Kavanaugh had 3 goals on the night for the Wolverines to hit the 20-goal plateau. Josh Martin led the way for the Terriers with 1 goal, 2 assists while Jeremy Leipsic had 2 points to hit 100 points on the season.

Meanwhile in a do-or-die game for the MJHL's playoff spot, the Stampeders allowed 5 goals in the middle frame as the Neepwa Natives beat Swan Valley 6-3 at the Yellowhead Center.

Justin Metcalf (1G 3A) and Ashton Anderson (2G 1A) led the way for Neepawa while Keaton Jameson, Cody Ellingson and Jack Leblanc replied for the Stampeders.
