Brochu leads Terriers to 5-2 win over the Millionaires



The Yorkton Terriers made it a split of the season opening home and home series by beating the Melville Millionaires 5-2 at the FAA.

Will Brochu led the way for the Terriers with 2 goals while Mason Mullaney, Charlie Risk and Cody Bruchkowski had the other Yorkton goals.

Tucker Chapman and Clayton Eisler scored for the Mils.

Logan Bateman got the win in the Terrier goal making    saves while Mils net minder Colby Entz turned aside   shots in the loss.

The Terriers next game will be on Tuesday night when they host the Estevan Bruins at 7:30 from the FAA while the Mils next game will be on Wednesday night when they visit the Melfort Mustangs. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30 from the Northern Lights Palace.



In the MJHL,

The Swan Valley Stampeders now have points in 4 straight games as they fell in overtime on Saturday, 5-4 to the Winnipeg Blues.

Quinton Sudom and Trevar Mann had 1G 1A each to lead way for the Stamps while Tanner Garnham and Noah Basarab had the other Swan goals.

Dale Goodbranson had 2 goals and 3 points to lead the way offensively for the Blues while Levi Cudmore had the OT winner.

Rookie local product Quinn Munro made 33 saves in the loss for Swan Valley.

Stamps next action will be on Tuesday night when they host the Dauphin Kings at 7:30 PM MB time from the Centennial Arena in Swan River.
