Mils; Terriers victorious on the road on Saturday Night

The Yorkton Terriers snapped a 3 game winless streak on Saturday night with a 5-4 win over the Estevan Bruins.

Will Brochu (2 goals) & Chantz Petruic (1G 2A) led the way offensively for the Terriers while Cody Bruchkowski and Austen Flaman (1st SJHL goal) also scored for the visitors.

Matthew Chekay, Michael McChesney, Issac Embree and Jake Heerspink replied for the Bruins.

16 year old Yorkton product Nolan Maier was outstanding for the Terriers to earn his 1st SJHL win stopping 45 of 49 shots while Max Sidelink made 30 saves in the loss.

The Terriers next game will be on Thursday night when they visit the Humboldt Broncos at the Elgar Peterson Arena. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30.


Elsewhere in Humboldt,

The Melville Millionaires earned their 4th win of the season as they held on for a 3-2 win over the Humboldt Broncos.

Tyler Millar scored the first 2 goals for the Millionaires while Montana Streit had the game winner for the Moneymen.

Logan Hunter and Logan Schatz replied for the Broncos.

Colby Entz made 24 saves for the victory in the Mils goal while Jacob Wasserman made 26 stops in the loss.

The Millionaires next game won't be until Wed. Nov 1st when they host the Weyburn Red Wings. We will broadcast that game on GX94 as well with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20.

In the MJHL,

The Swan Valley Stampeders earned only 1 out of a possible 4 points on their weekend road trip after falling 3-1 to the Selkirk Steelers on Saturday night.

The Stamps fell in overtime to Steinbach Pistons, one night earlier.

Shanan McFadden, Carter Barley and Ryan Piwniuk scored for the Steelers while Jaden Townsend replied for Swan Valley.

Hayden Dola got the win for the Steelers making 35 saves while Brett Evans made 30 saves on 33 shots in the losing cause.

The Stamps next game will be on Tuesday night when they host the Virden Oil Capitals. Pregame show at 7:20, pxp at 7:30PM MB time on Gx94 with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey.
