Friday Night MJHL/SJHL Recap

In the MJHL on Friday,

20 year old Daylin Smallchild (pictured above) scored the game winner with a minute left to lead the Swan Valley Stampeders to a 3-2 win over the visiting Neepawa Natives.

Shane Roulette and James Maxwell also scored for the Stamps while Matt Christian and Brett Opperman replied for the Flyers.

Ethan Peterson made 41 saves for his 6th win of the season while Flyers G Aaron Brunn turned aside 50 shots in the loss.

The Stamps will now host the Neepawa Natives on Saturday night. The two teams are currently tied for the 8th and final playoff spot in the MJHL standings.

The Melville Millionaires dropped their 2nd straight road game, losing 3-1 to the Kindersley Klippers.

Keilan Olson (1G 1A), Tate Page (1G 1A) Blake Kleiner (2A) had 2 points each for the Klippers who got a single from Tanner Thompson.

Taylor Elmy had the lone goal for the Mils who got 40 saves in the loss from G Brandon Wells.

The Mils wrap up their weekend road trip on Saturday night visiting the Battlefords North Stars.

Meanwhile in Weyburn,

The Yorkton Terriers were blanked on the road, 6-0 by the Weyburn Red Wings.

Mike Eskra, Connor Pyne, Jessie Young, Jordan Kazmyra, Ben Hiltz and former Terrier Dexter Robinson all scored for the Wings who got a 16 save shutout from Arik Weersink.

Joe Marcouilier made 36 saves in the loss.

The two teams will meet in the back half of the home and home series on Saturday night at 7:30 from the Farrell Agencies Arena.
