The Melville Millionaires dropped their 5th straight game on Tuesday night, losing on the road 6-1 to the Notre Dame Hounds at the Duncan McNeil Arena.
The Hounds wouldn't take long to get on the board in the 1st as Nolan Renwick would snipe home his 4th of the season just 50 seconds in to make it 1-0. Noah Bankowski would add to the Hounds lead with a nice deflection on Hardy Wagner point shot on the powerplay to make it a two goal advantage. Before the first buzzer would go off, the home team would add another go with the man advantage as Charles Martin's point shot would beat Berk Berkeliev to make it 3-0 Notre Dame after 1 period. Shots were 10-10.
Notre Dame would add a couple more in the 2nd as Cole Stevenson would bang home his 4th of the season past the Mils netminder just 7:44 into the middle frame to make it 4-0. Then with 1:37 left in the second, Tanner Tarbell would get a loose puck just outside the crease area and slip it top shelf for his fourth on the PP to give the Hounds a 5 goal lead after 40 minues.
In the 3rd, they would add to their lead as Captain Jared Hamm with a nice finish would snipe home his 7th to make it 6-0. But then just 1:10 later the Mils would break the goose egg as Logan Foster would rip home his 2nd of the year pas Riley Kohonick off a nice face-off win by Aidan Steinke to make it a 6-1 game.
Riley Kohonick made 32 saves in the Hounds' net to earn his 2nd victory of the season while 18 year old Mils' netminder Berk Berkeliev turned aside 21 of 27 shots in the losing cause.
The Mils' will next be in action on Friday night when they host the Nipawin Hawks before welcoming the Yorkton Terriers for a rescheduled game on Saturday evening.
