Tripp's 2 goals leads Swan Valley to 7th straight W in the Local Oct. 30th MJHL/SJHL Recap

The Swan Valley Stampeders ran their winning streak to 7 games on Tuesday night as they held on for a 4-3 victory over the Dauphin Kings at the Centennial Arena.

The Stamps struck first just 8:30 into the 1st period, Quintin Sudom would extend his goal streak to 5 games with an absolute snipe over top of the right shoulder of Brennan Kitchen for his 9th of the season to give the home team a 1-0 lead. The Kings would respond just under 6 minutes later as they would capitalize on a Stampeder turnover and Carter Sawchuk would take a feed from Sammy Mouland in the slot and beat Jackson Hjelle five-hole, for his 5th to make it even at 1-1 after 20 minutes. Shots were 11-6 Dauphin after 20 minutes.

Brad Goethals would regain the Stamps their one goal lead just 34 seconds into the 2nd period, with his 6th of the year to make it 2-1. Then just 1:06 later, the MJHL's leading scorer Josh Tripp (pictured above) would notch home his 1st of 2 goals in the period to give Swan their first two goal lead at 3-1. But just a short time later, Mitchell Joss would respond for the Kings as his long shot from the side would beat Jackson Hjelle short side to cut the visitors to within one. Tripp would add his 2nd with just 1:47 left in the middle frame as he beat Kitchen top-shelf once again for his 9th of the year to give the Stamps a 4-2 lead after 2 periods.

The Kings would strike with the only goal in the 3rd for either side as Eamonn Miller would pounce on a loose puck short-handed and go top shelf on the Stamps' net minder for his 1st as a King but thats as close as Dauphin would get.

Jackson Hjelle made 25 saves on 28 shots to earn his 3rd win of the season while Kings' netminder Brennan Kitchen made 32 stops in the loss.

The Stamps with the win improved to 12-2-1 on the season, and move into sole possession of 1st place in the MJHL standings at 25 points , one point ahead of the Portage Terriers.
