Terriers' win streak snapped at 5 with road loss in Flin Flon

SJHL

The Yorkton Terriers had their 5 game win streak come to an end on Friday night as they fell 7-5 to the Flin Flon Bombers at the Whitney Forum.

The Bombers would get on the board first as Nate Hooper would finish off a nice passing play with Vincent Nardone and Chrystopher Collin for his 6th goal of the year to give them an early 1-0 lead just 5:46 into the game.  But then in the late stages of the 1st period as they would respond with a couple from 20 year old Jared Legien, his 12th and 13th of the season's to give Yorkton a 2-1 advantage after 20 minutes

The home team would even it up at 2-2, 1:59 into the middle frame as Dawson McKenzie would snipe home his 3rd of the season. Then the Bombers would explode with 5 more in the 2nd, including two from SJHL leading scorer Brandson Hein while Caleb Franklin, Dawson McKenzie, Daylan Marchi and Vincent Nardone had singles.

The Terriers wouldn't go down without a fight in the 3rd. Just 49 seconds into the final frame, Cody Bruchkowski would snipe home his 5th of the season to cut the Terriers to within four. Just under 4 minutes later, Dino Antoniadis would re-direct home his 1st of the season to make it a 7-4 game. Then at the 8:16 mark of the 3rd, Cody Dubas' long point shot would beat a screened Jacob Delorme that made the game 7-5, but thats as close as the Terriers would get.

Delorme made 28 saves to earn the victory in the Bombers goal while Ben Laidlaw started for the Terrier and was pulled after allowing 6 goals on 25 shots while in relief Ryan Ouelette turned aside 19 of 20 Bomber shots.
