2022 Sasktel Men's Tankard set to begin on Wednesday in Whitewood

The 12 best men's curling teams in the province will head to Whitewood this week for the 2022 edition of the SaskTel Tankard Men's Provincial Curling Championships that begin on Wednesday and run through Sunday.

Host Chair Chad Kelly says the event was originally scheduled to take place at the Cooperators Center in Regina, but will now take place at the Whitewood Community Center.

"We got a call a few weeks from CURLSASK wondering if we'd like to host another Tankard, and we were kinda shocked at first, but with the circumstances they were looking to move it from a urban center to a more rural center where they might be less likely for exposure for the players so that the event could be decided on the ice."

The community of the Whitewood last hosted the event back in 2019, and Kelly adds they are looking forward to hosting such a great event.

"Yea we are excited, it's been a tough couple years for the recreational center so getting the chance to host these prestigious event again, we will be able to generate some much needed funds for the arena, and get the chance to host some great curling."

Tickets will be sold at the door with Event Pass $80, Day Pass $25, Last Draw of the Day $10, Ages 13-18 Day Pass $10 and 12 & under being free of charge.

Also, Spectators 12 and older must be fully vaccinated and masks need to be worn except when eating or drinking. For full look at the draw CLICK HERE ===========
