The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped the 7th meeting of the season with Virden falling 3-0 on the road to the Oil Capitals.
After a scoreless 1st period, the Oil Capitals got the games first goal at 8:50 of the middle frame as Evan Groening hammered home his 12th of the season to make it 1-0.
It would stay like that until the final seconds of the 2nd as Carson Buydens walked off the half-boards and then he snapped home his 20th of the year to put the home team up by a couple through 40 minutes.
In the 3rd, there was only goal scored and it came with 1:53 to go in regulation as Beau Larson iced the game into the empty net to complete the scoring.
Bailey Monteith made 31 saves in the Virden net to earn his 1st MJHL shutout, while Stamps' G Kobe Grant made 36 stops in the loss.
The Stamps and Oil Capitals will meet once again to wrap up their regular-season series on Saturday night back in Swan River.
