The Yorkton Terriers earned their 4th straight win on Sunday, after a 6-4 decision over the Nipawin Hawks.
It was solid start in the 1st for the Terriers as 4:25 in, Kishaun Gervais notched his 19th of the season to make it 1-0.
Then just 68 seconds later, Gervais added his 2nd of the night slipping it five-hole through the legs of Hawks' G Chase Hamm to make it a two-goal game.
It became 3-0 at 10:08 into the 1st on the powerplay Tanner Sklaruk was found in the slot and he made no mistake with his 9th of year.
But Nipawin cut their deficit within two, with just 3:18 left in the period as Ranon Joseph sniped it short-side on Tresor Wotton for his 1st SJHL goal to cut the Terrier lead to 3-1 through 20 minutes.
Early in the 2nd the Terriers and Hawks exchanged goals in the opening 10 minutes as Cole Buehler’s point shot beat Hamm for his 1st SJHL goal to make it 4-1 before Zander Stewart snuck one through Wotton to once again pull Nipawin within 2.
But before the 2nd period buzzer went off, Zach McIntyre one timed home his 16th to pull the Terriers into the 2nd intermission up 5-2.
Early in third. Kishaun Gervais completed the hat-trick while short-handed to make it 6-2.
The Hawks got a couple third period goals from Braxton Buchberger and Jake Smith but that’s as close as they would get.
Tresor Wotton improved to 5-0-0-1 on the season after stopping 21 shots in the Terrier goal.
Yorkton returns to action on Tuesday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place.
