Milligan scores a couple to lead the Millionaires over Yorkton in latest Highway 10 Battle

The Melville Millionaires climbed back into sole possession of 3rd place in the Viterra division on Friday night after a 7-4 win over the Yorkton Terriers at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

The visiting Mils would get on the board first as Jackson Nauss would capitalize on a rebound and knock home his 2nd of the season to give them an early 1-0 lead. Newcomer Tristan Paquette would get an assist on the goal to get his first point as a Millionaire. The Terriers would even it up with 3:29 to go in the 1st as McKenzie Welke would go top shelf on Colby Entz for his 5th of the season to launch the teddy bears for the Teddy Bear Toss goal to make it 1-1 after 1 period with the shots being 14-5 after 40 minutes.

In the 2nd period, the Mils regain their 1 goal lead just 43 seconds into the 2nd as Keegan Milligan (pictured above) would jam home his 7th of the season to make it 2-1. The Mils would then explode for 3 goals in a span of 2:51 off the sticks of Milligan, Aragon and Dryden Wust to make it a 5-1 Melville lead. Carson Welke would add one just over the half way point of the middle frame sneaking it through the post and the Mils net minder for his 8th to make it a 5-2 game after 2 periods, shot 30-25 Mils.

Mils rookie forward Damian Bentz would grab the Mils their 4 goal lead back as on the PP he would deflect home his 4th of the season to make it 6-2. Then the Mils would get in a little penalty trouble and the Terriers would capitalize on a couple power play goals from Jordan Ross and Carson Welke to cut the Terriers deficit to just 6-4.  But Mils would put it away with a late powerplay goal from Mathieu Jallabert to help the Mils to a 7-4 win on the road.

Mils netminder Colby Entz made 47 saves for his 4th victory of the season while Nathan Hargrave made 32 saves on 39 shots in the loss.

The Mils/Terriers will go right back at it on Saturday night at 7:30 from the Horizon Credit Union Center in Melville.

Mils Head Coach/GM Devin Windle recaps the victory on the Post Game Show:
