The Melville Millionaires got out to an early 1-0 lead, but gave up 2 in the 2nd as they fell 3-1 to the Nipawin Hawks at the Horizon Credit Union Center.
Daven Smith, Logan Casavant and Chad McCartney (Empty netter) scored for the Hawks while Alex Maticic scored the lone marker for the Mils.
Kristian Stead was once again solid for the Hawks making 30 saves on 31 shots while Brandon Wells made 28 saves in the losing cause.
The Mils return to action on Friday night when they visit the Energy City to take on the Viterra-division leading Estevan Bruins at Affinity Place. We will broadcast the game on GX94 with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30.
Meanwhile in the MJHL,
The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped a 7-1 decision on the road to the defending champion Portage Terriers on Wednesday night.
Ryan Sokolski led the way for the Terriers with 1G 2A while Boedy Vaeth had the only goal for Swan.
Brock Aiken made 15 saves for the Terriers to get the win while Connor Slipp made 23 saves on 30 shots in the loss.
The Stamps next action will be on Saturday afternoon when they host the Dauphin Kings at the Centennial Arena. Game time will be at 2PM MB time
