Terriers win; Wolverines lose on Sunday night Local Recap

The Yorkton Terriers are now winners of 3 straight as they defeated the visiting Estevan Bruins 3-2 on Sunday night from the Farrell Agencies Arena.

Rama's Cody Dubas' 1st SJHL marker with 6:35 left in the 3rd was the GWG while Evan Werle (1st goal as a Terrier) and Dexter Robinson also scored for the Terriers.

Matt Vernon was impressive making 40 saves to improve his record to 3-3-1 on the season.

Jason Miller and Zach Goberis replied for the Bruins.

The Terriers head back on to the road for a 3 game in 3 night road trip next weekend starting Friday in La Ronge. We will broadcast the game on GX94 with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 6:50, pxp at 7PM.


Meanwhile in the MJHL,

The Wayway Wolverines dropped their 2nd straight losing 5-3 on the road to the Portage Terriers on Sunday night.

Landyn Cochrane (1G 1A), Cody Durdle (2G) and Brandon Stanley (2A) all had 2 points each for Wayway while Hunter Lorenson made 35 saves in the loss.

Jeremy Leipsic had 1 goal & 2 assists to lead the Terriers' offensive effort.

Wolverines are back in action on Tuesday night when they host former teammate Rhett Lough and the Winnipeg Blues at 7:30 from the Wayway Arena Complex.
