The Yorkton Terriers are now winners of 5 straight games after a 5-1 win on Saturday afternoon over the La Ronge Ice Wolves at the Mel Heglund Uniplex.
In the 1st, the Terriers for the 2nd straight night would get the first goal as a good hustle play short-handed by Matt Perkins who would then slide it over to Cole Keenleyside who would re-direct home his 4th of the season through the 5-hole of Aaron MacKay to make it a 1-0 lead for the visitors after 1 period. Shots were 15-9 Terriers after 20 minutes.
The Terriers would add 2 more goals in the middle frame late as Kaleb Bell would force a turnover and go far side on McKay for his 3rd of the campaign to make it 2-0. Then just 3:13 later, Jordan Hudson would take a nice feed in front from Keenleyside and pot home his 1st SJHL goal to give the visiting Terriers a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes with the shots overall being 30-27 for Yorkton.
Dexter Robinson would give the Terriers a 4-0 lead with 3rd of the season early in the 3rd. The Ice Wolves would get on the board a short time later as Brayden Dunn would break the shutout of Nathan Hargrave with his 5th to make it 4-1. But the Terriers would wrap up the scoring and regain their 4 goal lead as Carson Welke would finish off a nice passing play and slide home his 7th of the year to give the Terriers their 10th win of the season, 5-1 over the Ice Wolves.
Nathan Hargrave earned his league leading 13th win of the season stopping 37 of 38 shots while Aaron McKay made 40 saves in the losing cause.
