Terriers & Mils win; Stamps lose on Friday Night Recap

McKenzie Welke scored the SO winner in the 6th round as the Yorkton Terriers beat the Flin Flon Bombers 5-4 in the shootout.

Jordan Ross led the Terriers offensively with 1G 3A while Carson Welke, Shane Sherban and Corwin Stevely had the other Yorkton goals.

Matt Vernon was very good in the Terriers goal making 46 saves for the victory.

The two teams will play the back end of the back to back on Saturday afternoon at 3PM from the Farrell Agencies Arena.

In La Ronge,

Colby Entz made 34 saves for his 3rd shutout of the season as the Melville Millionaires blanked the La Rong Ice Wolves 4-0 on Friday night at the Mel Heglund Uniplex.

Trevor Paradise and Ryan Mignault scored their first SJHL goals while Cory Schillo and Logan Foster also scored for the Mils.

The Mils wrap up their weekend road trip on Saturday night at the Cage when they take on the Nipawin Hawks at 7:30.


In the MJHL,

The Swan Valley Stampeders had a late comeback but it fell a little bit short as they fell 4-3 in Winkler against the Flyers.

Brian Harris had 2 goals for the Stamps while Trevar Mann chipped in with the other marker. Brett Evans made 30 saves on 34 shots in the loss.

The Stamps wrap up the 2 game weekend road trip on Saturday when they visit the Portage Terriers for a 7:30 puck-drop.
