The Melville Millionaires had their 3 game win streak snapped on Tuesday night, falling 4-1 in Wilcox against the Notre Dame Hounds
The Hounds would get the only goal of the 1st period and it would be on a very fortunate bounce. Riley Perka would ring it around the boards and it would take a nice bounce off a stanchion right in front for Marshall Wilton who made no mistake for his 9th of the year to make it 1-0 Notre Dame after 1 period.
Notre Dame would add to their lead in the 2nd as Tim Gould would take a nice feed across from Marshall Wilton and hammer home his 4th of the season to give the Hounds a 2-0 lead on Melville after 40 minutes.
The Mils would cut their deficit in half just over 4 minutes into the 3rd period as Damian Bentz would jump out on a rebound and bang home his 11th of the season and 4th in as many games to make it a 2-1 game. But the Hounds would once again respond with some insurance at the 12:11 mark as Jared Hamm would finish off a nice passing play for his 5th of the season to make it 3-1 and then with just 1:55 left, Colby Brandt would pounce on a loose puck to secure the 2 points for the home side.
Jacob Standen made 21 saves for the Hounds to earn his 11th win of the season while Colby Entz turned aside 33 shots in the losing cause.
The two teams will wrap up their 6 game season series here tonight (Wed) as they face-off at 7:30 from the Horizon Credit Union Center.
