The Yorkton Terriers Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Mat Hehr, current Interim Head Coach, to the position of Head Coach and General Manager of the Yorkton Terriers.
Mat has several years of experience in the hockey world. The 29-year old Sherwood Park, AB native is in his fourth year of coaching full time. He was also an Assistant Coach for SUNY-Canton in the NCAA Division 3 level in 2014-15. Prior to getting into coaching, Mat was an honest two-way forward who played three years for his hometown Sherwood Park Crusaders (2006-2009) in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Upon graduating from junior hockey, he earned an NCAA Division 3 commitment to State University of New York-Fredonia. He played four years at Fredonia (2009-2013) and earned a Bachelor Science degree majoring in Sports Management.
The Board of Directors are confident in Mat's ability to move the Terriers along the path to success that they have so often enjoyed.
Please join the Terriers organization in welcoming Mat Hehr and his family to his new role.
