Terriers' strong effort falls short losing to visiting North Stars

The Yorkton Terriers let a 3rd period lead slip away as they fell to the defending champion Battlefords North Stars 5-3 at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

The North Stars got out to an early 2-0 1st period on goals from Tre Doyon and Elijay Loon-Stewardson but the Terriers would draw even in the 2nd as Cody Bruchkowski and Austin Wieler (1st SJHL goal) to make it a 2-2 game after 40 minutes.

The Terriers would grab their first lead, 1:37 into the 3rd period as Mason Mullaney would sneak one through for his 2nd of the season to make it 3-2. But the North Stars would storm back with 3 unanswered goals from Cody Spagrud, Matthias Urbanski and McGregor Sinclair to come back for the 2 goal win on the road.

Joel Grzybowski made 25 saves on 28 shots to get the win in the North Stars net while Ben Laidlaw was solid in the Terriers crease turning aside 31 shots in the losing cause.

The Terriers next action will be on Wednesday night when they host the Melfort Mustangs at 7:30 from the Farrell Agencies Arena.
