Mils drop 3rd straight meeting to Estevan in the Nov 16th SJHL Recap

The Melville Millionaires dropped a 6-0 road decision on Friday night at Affinity Place against the Estevan Bruins.

It wasn't the opening period the Mils were looking for on the road as they would surrender 4 in the 1st. Jayden Davis would kick things off just 4:16 in as he would be Berk Berkeliev over the left glove for his 6th of the season to make it 1-0. Then a short time later, the Bruins would add to their with two goals just 25 seconds later off the sticks of Kade McMillen and Austin King-Cunningham to make it a 3 goal lead. The score would stay like that until the 17:27 mark when McMillen would get his second goal of the period going bar-down to give Estevan a 4-0 advantage after 20 minutes.

The Bruins would add two more goals from Johnny Witzke and Jake Heersping in the 2nd period to wrap up the scoring for the home side.

Grant Boldt only needed 12 saves to earn his 1st SJHL shutout while the Mils use two goaltenders on Friday night. Rookie Berk Berkeliev made 21 saves on 27 shots before being relieved by AP call-up and Pilot Butte Storm netminder Riley Christison who stopped all 8 shots he face in the 3rd period.

The Mils next game will be next Friday night when they visit the La Ronge Ice Wolves to begin a two game road trip which also includes a stop in Melfort on Saturday.

Meanwhile the Bruins will face off with the Yorkton Terriers tonight (Sat) in a neutral-site game in Canora. Puck drop will be at 7:30.
