Mils; Terriers both win in Nov 3rd Local SJHL/MJHL Recap

In the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League,

The Melville Millionaires and Yorkton Terriers both earned victories on Saturday.

The Terriers completed the weekend sweep of the La Ronge Ice Wolves with a 7-3 victory.

Jared Legien (2G 3A) and Branden Klatt (2G 2A) led the way offensively for the Terriers while Colby Brandt, Chantz Petruic and Quin Hobbs chipped in with the other markers.

Ryan Ouelette made 34 saves to earn his 2nd straight victory.

The Terriers' next game will be on Tuesday night when they visit Affinity Place to take on the Estevan Bruins. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, "Sask Milk" pregame 6:50, play by play begins at 7PM.


Meanwhile in Melville, the Millionaires earned their 2nd straight win as they defeated the Notre Dame Hounds 2-1 at the Horizon Credit Union Center.

Newcomer Luke Spadafora and Captain Cory Schillo scored the Mils goals' while 20 year old Colby Entz made 18 saves to earn his 2nd straight victory.

The Mils will wrap up their 3 game in 3 night road trip tonight (Sun) when they visit the Nipawin Hawks at 6PM from the Cage.

In the MJHL on Saturday,

The Swan Valley Stampeders got a point but had their 7 game winning streak come to an end after a 4-3 shootout loss to the Dauphin Kings at Credit Union Place.

Brennan Kitchen was outstanding in the Kings' net making 47 saves on 50 shots to steal the win.

Brad Goethals, Josh Tripp and Captain Jaden Townsend scored for the Stamps who got 24 saves from Jackson Hjelle in the shootout loss.

The Stamps will play their 3rd game against the Kings in 9 days on Wednesday night for their next game at the Centennial Arena in Swan River. We will have that game on the radio with Yorkton Dodge Junior hockey, pregame 7:20, the play by play starts at 7:30.
