The Yorkton Terriers had their 2 game win streak come to an end on Tuesday night as they fell for the 2nd time in Estevan this season, this time a 4-1 decision to the Bruins
The Bruins would strike with the opening marker of the game as Michael McChesney would take a nice feed in the slot from Jayden Davis and snipe home his 11th of the year past Ryan Ouelette to give his club the 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. Shots after the 1st were 16-10 in favour of the Terriers.
The home team would add to their lead just 83 seconds into the 2nd period as TJ Irey would capitalize on a rebound and hammer home his 10th of the season to make it 2-0. The Bruins' two goal lead would stay until the 15:55 mark of the middle frame thats when Mason Mullaney would receive a nice back-door pass from Dino Antoniadis and it was an easy tap-in for Mullaney past Jake Anthony for his 2nd to cut their deficit to just one at 2-1 after 40 minutes.
But thats as close as the Terriers would get on this night as the Bruins would add two more goals early on in the 3rd just 50 seconds apart off the sticks of Bryce Platt and Turner Ripplinger to add some insurance and help them to their 11th victory of the season
Jake Anthony was solid in the Bruins' net making 43 saves in the win while Ryan Ouelette turned aside 41 shots in the loss.
With the win the Terriers dropped to 2nd in the Viterra division, one point back of the Bruins.
The Terriers will continue their stretch of road games on Friday night when they visit the Humboldt Broncos. Puck drop is at 7:30. The Bruins' next game will be on Friday night in the Battlefords.
