Local products will represent Saskatchewan & Manitoba at this weeks 2019 WHL Cup in Calgary



The 2019 WHL Cup will kick-off today (Wed) and run through Sunday in Calgary, Alberta with some local flavour involved.

Team Saskatchewan will feature Canora's Carter Dereniwsky and a pair prospects from our local SJHL teams in Yorkton Terrier prospects Kyren Gronick & Vaughn Watterodt and Jakin Lawrence is property of the Melville Millionaires.

Meanwhile on the Manitoba side it includes Russell prospects Tyson Zimmer & Ryder Thompson as well as Strathclair's Conor Geekie.

Also included on the Manitoba squad is Waywayseecappo Wolverine prospects Luke Robson and Miguel Bouvier and Swan Valley Stampeder draft picks Owen Harris & Keefe Gruener.


The event features the highest-rated players in the under-16 age category from the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan


Wednesday, October 23
3 p.m. MT – Team Saskatchewan at Team BC
6 p.m. MT – Team Alberta at Team Manitoba



Thursday, October 24
3 p.m. MT – Team BC at Team Manitoba
6 p.m. MT – Team Alberta at Team Saskatchewan


Friday, October 25
3 p.m. MT – Team Manitoba at Team Saskatchewan
6 p.m. MT – Team BC at Team Alberta


Saturday, October 26
1 p.m. MT – 3rd at 2nd
4:30 p.m. MT – 4th at 1st


Sunday, October 27
9:30 a.m. MT – Bronze medal game
1:00 p.m. MT – Gold medal game
