Mils still winless on road after loss in Wilcox on Tuesday

The Melville Millionaires are still winless on the road after a 6-3 loss in Wilcox against the Notre Dame Hounds on Tuesday night.

It would only take the Mils 55 seconds to get on the board as James Philpott would finish off a nice feed in front going top-shelf on Logan Dyck for his 1st of the season to make it 1-0 Melville.

The Hounds would respond with 4:48 left in the opening period when Sho Takai took a back-door feed from Jake Dale and made no mistake past Mils G Scott Bird to even it up at 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.  Shots were 21-6 in favour of the Hounds.

The Moneymen would grab their one goal lead back as Blake Campbell would get the puck in the high-slot and snap home his 2nd of the season to make it 2-1.

It would stay like that into 19:59 mark of the middle frame as while short-handed Ben Hamilton's long shot would produce a rebound out front and once again it would be Sho Takai banging in his 2nd of the night with 1.6 seconds left to even the game up after 2 periods.

In the 3rd the Hounds would grab their first lead as Sho Takai would sneak it five-hole on Bird to complete his Hat-Trick that was before Jared Hamm scores a powerplay goal to make it 4-2

The Mils would get one back on a PP goal of their own as Booker Chacalias walked out from below the goal-line and beat a sprawled out Logan Dyck to make it 4-3.

But that’s as close as the Moneymen would get as Jaret Penner and Jared Hamm would add an empty netter each for the Hounds

Logan Dyck made 18 saves on 21 shots to earn his 1st win for Notre Dame while Scott Bird turned aside 44 shots in the loss.

The Mils will return to action on Friday when they visit the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
