After a scoreless 1st period, the Terriers would strike 2:31 into the middle frame. Drew Coughlin would get a nice back-door feed from Karstin McDonald for his 3rd of the season to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. The Bruins would though respond just 1:21 later, as Kaelan Holt would bang in his 25th of the season to make it 1-1. But the home team would regain their one goal lead just 6:08 into the 2nd as Cody Bruchkowski would find Regina's Mason Mullaney in front and the former Regina Capital's one timer would beat Bruins net minder Matt Lukcas short-side, for his 4th of the year making it 2-1. Ben Solomon would make it 3-1 Terriers just over 4 minutes later with his 1st goal in the SJHL as his quick snapshot would beat the Bruins goaltender once again on the short side as that added some insurance for the Terriers to earn them the 2 points.
Ben Laidlaw was outstanding in the Terriers stopping 40 of 41 shots for his 4th victory of the season while Bruins netminder Matt Lukcas made 20 saves in the losing cause.
The next game for the Yorkton Terriers will be tomorrow night (Fri) when they they host the Flin Flon Bombers. Game time is at 7:30. It will also be a Children's Wish game, which features Wish ambassador & Cancer Survivor Paige Hansen singing the National Anthem.
