Terriers' comeback falls short on the road in Nipawin on Tuesday Night.

The Yorkton Terriers put together a very good road effort, but in the end it came up a little bit short as they fell 4-2 to the 1st place Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday night.

In the 1st, the Hawks would strike first. Just 8:13 into the opening frame Josh McDougall's long point shot would beat a screened Joe Marcoullier for his 14th of the season making it 1-0. But the Terriers would answer back as Cody Dubas' would do a good job to keep it in at the blue-line and then send a beauty feed back door to Chantz Petruic for his 14th to even it at 1 apiece.  But with 2:57 left in the first period, the top-ranked Hawks  would regain their 1 goal lead as Daven Smith would hop on a big rebound from the Terriers net minder and slip in his 4th to give his club a 2-1 lead on the Terriers after 20 minutes. Shot 15-10 Nipawin through 1 period.

The Hawks would get the only goal in the middle frame and it would come with the man advantage. Josh McDougall would take a nice feed high slot from Yorkton's Brett Harasymuk and would put it top shelf for his 2nd of the night & 15th of the year and that gave the home team a 2 goal lead after 2 periods. Shots after 2 was 27-25 Nipawin.

In the 3rd, the Terriers would bring themselves within one once again as just seconds into their power play, Brendan Mark would find a seam in between the traffic and beat Declan Hobbs for his 2nd of the season that made it a 3-2 game. The Terriers big comeback though would fall short as Daven Smith would ice the game in the final minute with his 2nd of the night into the empty net to help the Hawks continue their point streak which moved to 26 games.

Hawks goaltender Declan Hobbs made 33 saves to earn the win while Joe Marcouilier stopped 31 shots in the Terriers net to take the loss.

The Terriers' next game will be on Friday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place while the Hawks start a home and home series with the Melfort Mustangs on Friday night.
