The Yorkton Cardinals are now on a two-game winning streak as they
blasted Melville 15-2.
The Cardinals, who started the season with eight
straight losses, exploded for six runs in both the second and third
innings on their way to scoring a season high 15 runs.
Yorkton’s Clyde Yeh had a very good night at the plate registering
three hits including his first homer of the season, two runs scored and
four RBI.
Owen Steele, Yorkton’s starting pitcher, held Melville batters to one
run and four hits over seven innings. Steele also reduced his ERA to
0.44 in three games.
The Cardinals and Mils both have the day off on Wednesday. Both teams will head on the road on Thursday as Yorkton will be in Regina and Melville visits Swift Current.
