In Melville,
A seven run fifth inning helped the Melville Millionaires end their
nine-game losing streak as they defeated the visiting Moose Jaw Miller
Express 11-6.
Kole Kaler from Queen Creek Arizona had three hits, two RBI and scored
two runs to end the Millionaires drought. Cuesta College’s Nik Pagan
added to the Melville offence with two hits, two runs scored, three
walks and three RBI.
The Miller Express highlights included home runs from Alex Hendra-Brown and John Raybourn.
Moose Jaw starter Markus Gregson dropped to 1-1 with the loss while
Lyle Hibbitts added his second win of the season for the Money Men.
In Yorkton,
The Swift Current 57s continues their winning ways with a 12-1 thumping
of the Yorkton Cardinals at Jubilee Park. With the victory, the 57s
improved to 7-8 while the loss dropped the Cardinals to 3-10.
Swift Current starter Tommy Steier went five innings allowing just one
earned run on five hits and two walks. The University of Nebraska at
Omaha product also had seven strikeouts before handing the ball to Brock
Gilliam who pitched three perfect innings. Cade Burdett came out in the
ninth to close out the game.
Wryland McKnight had a decent outing for the Cards allowing one run on
four hits. The bullpen struggled against the 57 hitters, as five
relievers were tagged 11 runs on eight hits.
Left Fielder Alex Orenczuk led the Swift Current offence with three
hits including a home run and four RBI. Dillon Champagne, the lone
Cardinal offensive threat, had two hits and an RBI for Yorkton
