Terriers' capture 4th straight after road victory over Humboldt
The Yorkton Hyundai Terriers captured their 4th straight on Friday night after a 6-4 road victory over the Humboldt Broncos.
The Broncos struck first just 70 seconds in as Tristan Shewchuk finished off a nice pass from Logan Foster and he tapped home his 26th of the season to make it 1-0 lead. The Terriers responded though 6:05 later as Colby Vranai caused a turnover deep and then slid it over to Brett LeGrandeur who got his 7th of the season, a goal that came short-handed to make it 1-1 just 7:15 in.
Shewchuk would add his 2nd of the night just over a minute later to regain the Broncos lead at 2-1.
Steven Norum evened it up late in the 1st finishing off a nice passing play from the Taphorn twins to make it 2-2 after 20 minutes.
In the 2nd, the Terriers grabbed their first lead of the night just 1:28 in as Steven Norum's behind the back pass found Jordan Guiney back-door for his 16th of the year to make it 3-2 then Gavin Ingram's 1st SJHL goal made it 4-2 for the visitors after 2 periods.
Ingram, who hails from nearby Quill Lake added his 2nd of the night halfway through the 3rd to make it a 5-2 game.
But the Broncos would start a little comeback as first Cody Hough's long shot beat Phillipe Bond short-side for his 3rd to make it a 2 goal game.
Then just 69 seconds later, Shewchuk's long shot beat a screened goaltender to complete the Hat-Trick to make it 5-4 but thats as close as they would get.
Keenan Taphorn iced it into the empty net to help the Terriers to victory.
Phillipe Bond was busy stopping 58 saves for the victory while Michael Harroch turned aside 18 shots in the loss.
The Terriers' wrap up the road-trip on Saturday night visiting the Kindersley Klippers at 7:30.
Elsewhere,
The Melville Millionaires' drop a 5-1 home decision to the Estevan Bruins.
Luke Nkwama's 19th of the season was the lone goal for the Mils while Berk Berkeliev turned aside 38 stops in the loss.
The Mils' return to action on Saturday night when they visit the Melfort Mustangs.

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines opened up their weekend road-trip after a 4-2 win over the OCN Blizzard.
Anthony Bilka, Jaymes Knee, Reagan Rabbit and Jacob Charko scored the Wolverines while Colin Ahern made 39 stops in the win.
The Wolverines continue their road swing in Swan River on Saturday night against the Swan Valley Stampeders at 7:30.
