The Waywayseecappo Wolverines' moved into 5th place in the MJHL standings on Wednesday night after a 4-2 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders' who dropped their 2nd straight.
After a scoreless first period, Gerrik Ripley got the Wolverines on the board just 98 seconds into the 2nd as Jack Kennedy's long point shot hit Ripley in front and would go over top of Stamps' G Parker Rey for his 10th of the season to make it 1-0.
Conrad Phillips added to their lead later in the period as he snapped it by Rey for his 24th of the season to make it a two goal game.
Leyson Coleman would bring his team within one late in the middle frame as he re-directed in his 11th of the year to make it a 2-1 Swan Valley deficit after 40 minutes.
The Wolverines' though would respond with a couple quick goals early in the 3rd from Brody Moffatt and Jacob Charko to put the Wolverines ahead by three.
Nathan Carl brought the Stamps' within two with 5:55 to go, but that's as close as they would get as they fell on the road.
Colin Ahern, in his 14th straight start made 36 saves on 38 shots to earn his 7th victory of the season while Stamps' Parker Rey made 22 saves in the loss.
The Stampeders' will return to action on Saturday night against the visiting the Steinbach Pistons while the Wolverines' return to action on Friday in Winkler against the Flyers.

Stampeders' F Beerman up for MJHL Rookie of the Year
The Manitoba Junior Hockey League is out with its nominees for their league awards from the 2019/20 season.
Among the nominees for Rookie of the Year is Swan Valley Stampeders' F Luke Beerman.
The 18 year old from Marquette, Michigan is currently leading the Stamps with 54 points in 57 games.
He's up against Caiden Gault of the Selkirk Steelers and Carter Loney from the Steinbach Pistons for the award.

The Melville Millionaires lost their 5th straight on Wednesday, falling at home 8-0 to the Humboldt Broncos.
Logan Kurki led the way for the Broncos with a 4 goal night while Karter McNarland and Doug Scott chipped in with 3 assists nights.
Mils' netminder Kaleb McEachern turned aside 49 of 57 shots in the loss.
The Mils look to snap their slide on Friday night when they visit the Nipawin Hawks. GX94 will broadcast the game, starting with the pregame show at 7:20 and the play by play kicking off at 7:30PM.
