B Constant is OT Hero as Mils beat Klippers in Game 1

The Melville Millionaires in a wild one defeat the Kindersley Klippers 5-4 in overtime to take a 1-0 series lead in the SJHL Quarter final series.

The Mils would open the scoring as Sam Williams' long shot would get deflected by Brady Constant (pictured above) for his 1st of the playoffs to give the Mils a 1-0 lead. But shortly after the Klips would get a 5 on 3 PP and Gio Bombini evened it back up at 1-1 as he would go top shelf on Isaiah Plett for his 1st. It would stay like until the final 3 minutes of the 1st when Cody Young would captialize on a Mils turnover and beat Plett with a shorthanded marker to give the Klips a 2-1 lead after 1 period.

The 2nd would be Another back and forth period and it would be the Mils getting the lone marker as Lane Harbor would be left alone in front and he would go top shelf on King to pull the Mils even  at 2-2 after 40 minutes.

The Klippers would regain their 1 goal lead early on in the 3rd, as Marc Dabeau would capitalize on a bad Mils change and go over the glove of Plett for his 1st to give them a 3-2 lead. Brady Constant would give the Mils some life and even it up at 3 as he snapped home his 2nd of the game/playoffs. But just 33 seconds later Stefen Seel grabbe a loose puck in front and backhanded it past Plett to ice again for the 3rd time give the Klips a 1 goal lead at 4-3. Just over a minute later the Mils would get a PP and they would convert to tie it up at 4-4 as Simon Genereux shot would go off Landon Farrell in front to pull even to head to OT.

In Overtime, for the third time for me in these playoffs the player looking for his hat trick would get his hat trick as Brady Constant finished the trick rifling one shortside over top Kings for his 3rd of the night to give the Mils a 5-4 win.

Isaiah Plett stopped 31 shots for the win while Tyrell King took the loss in goal.

The Klips will host the Mils for Game 2 Tonight at the West Central Events Center. Game time is 7:30, pregame show gets going at 7:20 on GX94.
