Mils Complete Sweep; Stamps' season ends in Double OT

The Melville Millionaires completed the 4 game sweep of the Kindersley Klippers with a 1-0 Game 4 win on home ice on Wednesday night.

The teams will play a very defensive first period, with both teams not wanting to make that first mistake and it showed in the shot column as the two teams combined for a total of 10 shots in the opening period.

In the 2nd, things would start opening up a bit for the Mils and they would credit for their strong effort as Captain Colin Mospanchuk (pictured above) would finish off an nice passing play started by Lane Harbor and Kelvin Walz to tap in his 1st of playoffs to make it a 1-0 Mils lead after 40 minutes of play.

The Kindersley Klippers would play like a desperate hockey team in the 3rd, playing for their 13/14 season as they sent a lot of pucks the way of Isaiah Plett, but like he has all series long is play solid and shut the door for the Mils to let the moneymen hold on for a 1-0 victory to win the Best of 7 series, 4-0 to advance to the SJHL's Final Four.

Isaiah Plett stopped 26 shots for his first SJHL Playoff shutout while surprise starter Evan Weninger was very solid stopping 34 in a losing cause.

Time and Opponent still to be determined for the Semi-Final (Stay tuned to GX94 so find out when)

But lastly congratulations to the Klippers on the solid season, and best of luck to their 20 year olds as they had their junior careers ended tonight.
